DA tries to block killer’s parole
Twenty-eight years. That’s how long it’s been since prison inmate Raymond Lee Franklin overpowered a Cobb County Sheriff’s deputy during a visit to a dentist’s office. He took the deputy’s pistol, kidnapped a young dental assistant, then killed an elderly man after his escape. Twenty-eight years. Long enough, Franklin’s lawyer says, to merit parole.
